Meet Ellie she is the grown up sister of my “Little uns” collection! Ellie loves her wellies and she loves splashing in puddles. The kind of girl that will confidently stride over to a puddle and walk with a splish through the rain water! I think I may have a bit of Ellie still in me 🙂
The print is called “Splish Splash” and was inspired by a verse I found “If all the splishes and splashes were one, What a great adventure that would be!”
Storey teamed up with Spoonflower for a nautically inspired fabric design contest and I couldn’t resist when I saw the cute top! And the best news is the winning design will be featured in the newest Storey’s bestselling One-Yard Wonders series: the upcoming 101 Little One-Yard Wonders!
If you like the design, stop by and fav “splish Splash.” Thank you.
It is the season after all! I am looking forward to Christmas, not quite ready to put up the tree but definitely time to start present shopping and wish dropping!!
Books on pattern, books on art, books on design, old books, new books…….just send me a gift voucher from Amazon 😀
A box of Christmas Crackers from Liberty’s.
Failing all that a trip home would be nice to spend the holidays with my family!
What’s on your Christmas wish list?
Aren’t these sweet? Today I got the chance to photography and style a Table Top Pattern. It’s part of my new series of photos and blog posts to inspire from creating hands on patterns made from collections of objects – or in this case Lebkuchen!
The textures, colours and shapes are beautiful (and they taste good too!) The mushroom shaped one is my favourite, along with the irregular stripes (definitely a pattern in the making there!)
Who could resist a Christmas tree made of biscuits (already working on an advent calendar!)
It’s beginning to feel a lot like Christmas!
Outside the street lights and decorations have been put up ready for the Christmas market and my favourite christmas drink – Glühwein. Glühwein is a traditional drink here in Germany usually made from red wine, cinnamon sticks, cloves, star aniseed and citrus. I love it mit Schuss (with a shot) and after one or two we have been known to put the world to right including coming up with one of our first business ideas – a couple of hot glühwein drinks and a few scribbled ideas on a napkin perfect evening 😀
Away from the computer today to make pretty recycled paper roses! I was roaming the internet looking for ideas for a handcrafted Christmas as I plan on making all my decorations and wrapping paper this year and found the easiest and oh so cute tutorial on making paper flowers via Dozi. Take a peek!
Moving in the right direction is spot on for today! I have over the last few weeks been building an online shop and working through all the parts, the design, drawing up licenses, learning a whole new set of skills from basic html and css to integrating a shopping cart! Pretty proud of myself as all the pieces are starting to come together in a cohesive brand!
So today’s Art everyday month is a visual reminder of how things are pointing in the right direction!
