Happy days are here again…okay happy bear faces with fantastic colours of pink, blue, yellow and bear brown are here.
Meet the whole collection of bear fabrics with coordinating polka dot “freckle” fabric and a tribal print to complete the look over at our new fabric shop.
More fabric coming soon.
Today the light filled the studio along with flowers, fabric swatches and fun times.
The fabric is a sneak peek at a new line available at Modern Yardage…as soon as it is online I will shout it out! Love this colours! Yay!
Never one to miss the action…..love baby cakes!
They say good things come in threes! Firstly it’s my birthday and a good reason to celebrate right? Secondly the wee one woke me with cuddles after a whole 6 hours uninterrupted sleep! YAY! So now I actually feel alive enough to celebrate!
The third announcement – Impossible as it sounds I have something that tops them all (yes even better than baby sleeping which I thought would be the best news ever) I can now announce I shall be designing exclusively brand new spanking patterntastic fabrics for Modern Yardage.
Modern Yardage is a great company, for me having a good working relationship is sooo important and the team behind the scenes are super communicative and keen to work with designers! And what a set of designers they already work with – you can find all of our profiles over on the Meet the Designers page and read a bit about little me!
I hope you can join me on this journey. I already have some designs taking shape and want to whip out the sewing machine but my skills are basic so I am gonna learn as I go and share the experience here on the blog as well as featuring lots of talented sewers and crafty bods that adore beautiful patterned fabric just like we do!
Sometimes I step outside and forget I no longer live by the sea! A little reminder for me and soon a move closer to the mountains and lakes will hopefully help!

Dandelions! I love them for their yellow cheerfulness, simple but bright and then the change into feathery, light and delicate, blow in the wind flowers……stunning!

I am as pleased as punch to share my news today (although I think a few of you knew before me!)
Splish Splash was made into a cool tee by the fab Spoonflower for the One- Yard Wonder Under the Sea design comp and aren’t the girls adorable!!!
And more good news, the fabric pattern is available for sale over at my store so you can make your own Splish Splash Tee!!

Meet Ellie she is the grown up sister of my “Little uns” collection! Ellie loves her wellies and she loves splashing in puddles. The kind of girl that will confidently stride over to a puddle and walk with a splish through the rain water! I think I may have a bit of Ellie still in me
The print is called “Splish Splash” and was inspired by a verse I found “If all the splishes and splashes were one, What a great adventure that would be!”
Storey teamed up with Spoonflower for a nautically inspired fabric design contest and I couldn’t resist when I saw the cute top! And the best news is the winning design will be featured in the newest Storey’s bestselling One-Yard Wonders series: the upcoming 101 Little One-Yard Wonders!
If you like the design, stop by and fav “splish Splash.” Thank you.
Get your vote on for the Stars and Stripes Spoonflower contest. Here’s a few of my favourite, doodles and marker pen art, big and bold, stand out for me this week, how about you? Are you liking this trend?
Okay Spoonflower itself is far from extinct, but their latest competition just ended Extinct Animals. The idea was to create a fabric design using one or more extinct animals as design motifs. Here’s a few of my favourites………..
